One Act Play Goes to State!!
May 2007
The Creekview High School cast is Austin-bound one more time for their One Act Play Competition entrant Dancing at Lughnasa. The cast competed against six District winners at Texas Tech in Lubbock for the Regional Award on Saturday, April 14. The following CHS students received Honorable Mention All-Star Cast awards: Christina Doocy and Cameron Kincaid.
All-Star Cast Awards went to Chris Sykes and Nellsyn Hill
Lauren Thomas was named Best Actress at the competition.
In the past eight years, Creekview has advanced to State seven times!!!
Theater/Debate Banquet Info
The Creekview Theater/Debate Banquet will be held May 19 at 6:00pm, Dinner at 6:30pm. The event will be held at the American Airlines Training Center off of 360 in Arlington. The ticket price is $20 per person and they will go on sale around May 1. Checks should be made out to Creekview Theatre Booster Club. The Creekview High School Speech Team attended its first tournament of the season at Plano Senior High on August 26 and 27. Out of the forty schools in attendance, Creekview took 2nd place sweepstakes overall. Individual

GOING TO STATE !!
Creekview High School advanced to state in the UIL 5A, Region II one-act-play contest held at Baylor University in Waco on April 22, 2005. Best Actress was awarded to Creekview senior Francesca Eaddy and Best Actor was presented to Creekview senior D'Angelo Lacy. Eight schools across Texas will compete for the state championship at Bass Hall at the University of Texas in Austin at 4pm on May 7.
The cast and crew performed scenes from Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage. Creekview One-Act-Play directors are Demond Wilson, Missey Head and Laura McNary.
Other cast members include Charissa Graniero, Samantha Harrison, Amy Garrett, and Eric Nietubicz. Supporting the cast are Ross Luippold, Sam Haroldson, Sarah Box, Carolyne Smith, Stephanie Fischer, Chris Allen, Baillie McLendon, Chris Sykes, Kristen Lovell, and Diana Weaver.
National Competition Updates !
Creekview High School theater and debate students competed in the National Forensic League District Competition April 15-16.
In Humorous Interpretation, Eric Nietubicz placed first and Samantha Harrison placed second.
Chris Sykes placed first in Dramatic Interpretation and Eric Nietubicz and Amy Garrett placed second in Duo Acting.
All four students will represent Creekview in the National tournament June 12-17 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The following students placed in finals or semi-finals: Francesca Eaddy, D'Angelo Lacy, Imah Effiong, Melissa Lui, the team of Ben Hendricks and Louis Andrade.
The debate team of Rehan Ali and Mohammed Valliani are first alternate to nationals.
